The Field, Lunesdale 20th October 2007

We now have photo galleries to the website. The main contributor is our webmaster, Mr Nick Wallis, who can be seen out on meets balancing a large hipflask on one side of his saddle and a large camera on the other. As riding the horse is always his top priority he is always grateful to other people who have managed to take some photos of the meet.

Sending Photos

We are always grateful for photos of the meets. If you wish to send any for display on the website please forward them to our webmaster, webmaster@vlhunt.com, with an email granting permission to use them. Please note that as anyone can download photos from our galleries you may wish to watermark them. If you want them watermarked but cannot do this yourself we can do this for you – just tell us what the watermark should say.

The website will shrink all photos displayed to no larger than 800 pixels on the longest side. If you wish you can preshrink any images you submit. This will also be kinder to your email programme.

7. If you do not want to grant the Vale of Lune Hunt the permissions set out above on these terms, please do not submit or share your contribution to or with the Vale of Lune Hunt.

Taking Photos From Horseback

Our webmaster uses the following kit to take his photos:

Our webmaster on horseback with his camera.
  1. A Lowe Pro TLZ1 camera bag mounted to the right hand side of his saddle with mini karabiners and an old noseflash.
  2. A Canon EOS10D
  3. A Canon EF 4.5-5.6/80-200mm zoom lens. Not the best lens in the world, but light (only 250g), sharp and fast enough for this sort of work out in often wet and muddy conditions.
  4. 0.5 litre hipflask filled with Glen Grant 5 year old single malt, mounted on the left hand side of the saddle. Balances out the camera nicely.

Draghunting and trail hunting are high risk sports. From time to time it is inevitable that accidents will happen, whether or not it is the fault of the rider or any of those otherwise concerned. For this reason we make it a condition that anyone coming out with us must have read carefully, and observe, the safety requirements in the disclaimer.
