The Vale of Lune Harriers are a pack of medium sized hounds.
Their original quarry was the Hare. Since the law changed in 2005,
this pack has now been converted to follow a drag - an artificial
scent laid by a rider over a trail carrying a scented cloth for
the hounds to follow.
There are 15 1/2 couple of harriers at the kennels and they are
doing well. There are 17 couples of unentered puppies this year,
we are working hard to keep the breeding lines going... If
you would be interested in Puppy Walking (that is keeping a puppy
or two with you at home for a few months) please email us on valeoflune@hotmail.co.uk
or contact the kennels on 015242 21210. This is a very important
job as the puppies must be socialised and learn their names before
they start their working life.
