The Hounds and Kennels

There are two packs of Hounds at the VLH Kennels, The VLH Harriers and The Three Counties Bloodhounds

The Vale of Lune Harriers has been in Hornby, Lancashire, for over 100 years and enjoys the beautiful Lune Valley in stunningly beautiful countryside. The hunt is home to a Harrier pack and also a new pack of Bloodhounds. We enjoy marvellous days in and around the Lune Valley, courtesy of the many Farmers and Landowners that allow us access to the land. Without them we could not enjoy our sport. The sport we enjoy is suitable for most riders (including children) and horses and ponies, with hedges, hurdles and stone walls to jump if you want (but there is always a way around them!). The hunting year currently runs from early October to early March, meeting every Wednesday and Saturday. There are also social and other activities to enjoy all year. We would love to see you out sometime with us, either mounted or following on foot, bicycle, quad or car!

See Clive Richardson's comments on hound breeding in Horse and Hound, 26th October 2006, pg 23.
