Opening Meet – The Bay Horse, Arkholme
Saturday 17th October 2009, 12noon
Opening Meet
I’m not sure where Clive booked the weather for the opening meet, but once again at Arkholme it was clear and crisp. The meet was well supported by both mounted members and foot followers.
The recent dry weather made for excellent jumping conditions, and there were very few falls.
John Vine and Michael Markey and others who I have yet to force an introduction upon once again graced the hunt with their cameras, and the opening meet album will soon be awash with images.
Many thanks to Cleggy for acting as Trail Layer, to Mel Brookes for taking the non-jumping field, to The Bay Horse for hosting the meet, and the local farmers for the land, parking, and especially to Jim Ayton for towing Paul Conway out of the field.
