Equine Artist Lesley Humphrey has been kind enough to send us some of the photos she shot during a day spent with Clive and the hounds last year.
Lesley had a unique perspective on these hounds, as they hunted her!

Lesley has already completed a study of Clive in oils, and is currently working on a painting of Clive and Paul at Myerscough College open day.
In contrast to our banner photo Mr Chris Hodgson has been kind enough to send us an old photo of the Vale of Lune at Hornby Castle.

The Vale of Lune at Hornby

A Good Solid Hunter
Many thanks to the 87 people who voted in our poll to find out how old is your hunter, and the most popular age range is…
… 9 to 12.
The poll is now closed, but we have a new question for you on the right.

Once again the Vale of Lune has been mentioned in the letters pages of Horse & Hound as a welcoming and friendly hunt:
Back in the hunting seat at Christmas
Sir – the weekend before Christmas I fulfilled an ambition to go hunting again after a five-year break and serious back surgery.
The staff and members of the Vale of Lune Harriers made us feel so welcome. Despite the constant rain and low cloud, I felt as if we were riding in sunshine. Even though I am no longer able to jump, we had such fun galloping through lovely countryside.
I am still sporting a smile at the thought of our day and my horse, Paddy, is still “hunting” in his mind, his eyes bright. We plan to go again.
Fiona Long.
Thanks Fiona for spreading the word about the VLH.
