Clive does his first ever dressage test
Many thanks to Paul and Debbie Conway for organising this event, and to all the competitors who braved the weather to compete.
Paul Conway has been kind enough to write us this review of the day.
“
What a fantastic turnout for the combined training at Myerscough College. Our many thanks to Kelly at Myerscough for allowing us to use the facilities at such short notice. In the event we were very lucky with the weather on the day with only a couple of showers and the majority of people managed to do their tests in the dry!
The atmosphere was great and a good day was had by all.
Best test of the day was Mary Abrahams on Kipper who won a free days hunting by finishing on her dressage of 72.8% with no show jumps down!!
The P18 was decided by the last round of show jumping when Alan Ellithorne knocked the final fence down to hand victory to Sue Piner and Zach.
In the last and most hotly contested class of the day Ellie Mollart beat Zee Robinson by less than one percent to head the Novice 32 . This was more impressive as it was Ellie’s first ever test!!
However in wasn’t all serious as Clive our Master and Huntsman did his first ever dressage test on Paul’s Rolo, a horse he’d never sat on before. Clive was helped in the dressage by Sarah Clegg who read (and pointed) the test for him which resulted in Clive getting a number of 7’s. 2012 here he comes!
The show jumping proved much more to clive’s liking as he never looking like hitting a fence .
Once again thanks to everyone who made the effort to come as this will be on the calender next year.
See you all at the ambles , Debbie and Paul Conway.

This year the VLH held a fun ride through the idyllic scenery overlooking the Lune Valley, with a choice of two routes, of 6 miles and 12 miles.
Draghunting and trail hunting are high risk sports. From time to time it is inevitable that accidents will happen, whether or not it is the fault of the rider or any of those otherwise concerned. For this reason we make it a condition that anyone coming out with us must have read carefully, and observe, the safety requirements in the disclaimer.
