Thanks to the hard work of the Huntsman and the graciousness of the farmers we were fortunate to get out from Arkholme. There was plenty of galloping all day, not least back to wagons.

Meet Photos Now Up In The Gallery
Our webmaster was out with the field and managed to take some one-handed snaps from the back of his mount.
Further pictures have been received from Mr Mark Oddy who has kindly let us add them to the gallery.
Halton is definitely off this Wednesday as according to Clive you’d need aqualungs. We shall instead be meeting at The Plough at Lupton.
With ground conditions underfoot so wet out of consideration to the farmers who so kindly let us cross their land Saturdays Meet from the Redwell Inn has been cancelled.
By kind invitation of Mrs D Hope.
We return to Whoop Hall for another great day out.
Please ring the HOTLINE, 07736 625128, for parking instructions.
Once again the Vale of Lune has been mentioned in the letters pages of Horse & Hound as a welcoming and friendly hunt:
Back in the hunting seat at Christmas
Sir - the weekend before Christmas I fulfilled an ambition to go hunting again after a five-year break and serious back surgery.
The staff and members of the Vale of Lune Harriers made us feel so welcome. Despite the constant rain and low cloud, I felt as if we were riding in sunshine. Even though I am no longer able to jump, we had such fun galloping through lovely countryside.
I am still sporting a smile at the thought of our day and my horse, Paddy, is still “hunting” in his mind, his eyes bright. We plan to go again.
Fiona Long.
Thanks Fiona for spreading the word about the VLH.
